  • OnePlus today announced two new budget smartphones: the OnePlus Nord N10 and Nord N100.
  • The phones mark the return of the headphone jack and the first phones since the OnePlus X with a microSD card slot.
  • The new Nords will launch in Europe and the UK first, but both will eventually land in North America.

OnePlus just took the wraps off yet another pair of 2020 smartphones. The phones are budget entries in the brand new Nord series and land as the N10 and N100. The former is just underneath the OnePlus Nord as far as specs and value go, while the latter is the lowest the company has ever gone in specs/value.

The N10 will start at £329/€329 (~$429) while the N100 will cost £179/€179 (~$233). Both will be available in the United Kingdom and Europe. Eventually, they will land in North America, though OnePlus did not divulge any concrete info on release dates yet.

OnePlus’ lineup just got really confusing

Of the two new devices, the OnePlus Nord N100 makes the most sense. It touches on a segment of budget shoppers who, up until now, simply avoided OnePlus because it didn’t offer anything for them. The N100 will allow them to give Oxygen OS a shot (even if it is based on Android 10) for an incredibly low price.

The N10, however, is spec’d a lot lower than the OnePlus Nord but only costs £50 less. If someone is thinking about the Nord N10, they might as well put in the extra cash and get a phone that is better by pretty much every metric. The main Nord also features the signature OnePlus alert slider, which both the N10 and N100 appear to lack. OnePlus would not confirm or deny for us if the alert slider is a feature of either phone.

Things will be a bit different when the phones land in the United States, though. Since the OnePlus Nord didn’t launch here, the Nord N10, specifically, will fill in an empty gap in the market.

This release marks, by far, the most phones OnePlus has launched in one year’s time. It will be very interesting to see how the company handles transitioning from a flagship-only brand to a more all-around company.
